Awesome Kids - Band and Orchestra Spring 2017

The Awesome Kids Band and Orchestra
January 30- February 24th

When: Wednesdays, February 1st to May 17th, 4 Sessions
Who:
4th, 5th and 6th grade instrumentalists
(strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion)
Time: 4-5:30pm
Cost: $48 per 4 class session. Class must have at least 10 students to occur.
Location: Piney Ridge Elementary School Band Room

4th-6th Grade instrumentalists advance their skills by playing rock, pop and jazz music! As an extension of the awesome kids program’s beginning band and orchestra, this class features a combined band and orchestra playing a variety of songs ending with a live recital performance.

The Awesome Kids Band includes all 4th, 5th and 6th grade instrumentalists of any instrument (strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion). While performing fun and popular tunes, students learn new fingerings, notes and theory about music and their instrument. Play songs from the Beatles, Van Halen, Michael Jackson and more, on your band or orchestra instrument!

This program will be focused on the areas of coach instruction, player skills development, and further improving the level of sportsmanship and competition in Sykesville Baseball.

PIE3 Robotics Teams 2016/17 - FRC

Welcome to the PIE3 Robotics Team Registration Site.

Note that the initiation fee of $20 does not guarantee placement on a team. If a workshop is open, you will be entitled to attend the workshop. Workshop attendance is not mandatory, but registrations do close as noted. If you have been confirmed by your coach, you will be assigned to the appropriate team.

Cost is $20 per child eligible for team participation. Additional costs for the season will be discussed in detail during the workshop and may vary by team.

PIE3 - 2017 June and July Sessions

June and July Location: Freedom Optimist Hall, 6315 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg 21784
Cost: $170 per session. Includes t-shirt and daily snack.
Girls in Engineering (ages 8-12)
This camp will include engineering challenges like egg drop and bridge building, guest speakers, a field trip and, of course, Lego robots and SuGo. There will be many more creative crafts and teambuilding activities as well. GIRLS ONLY!! Girls interested in these activities and not able to make this session are encouraged to enroll in any Lego Fun Camp or the afternoon Advanced Lego Programming.
June 19-23, 1 – 4 pm
LEGO Fun Session (ages 8-12)
Lego Fun Camp includes an introduction to Lego EV3 programming for Mindstorms and SuGo games, a friendly and fun competition and all sorts of activities like paper airplanes, making buttons, and engineering challenges. On the final day, teams showcase their robots and skills

Advanced Lego Programming and Accomplishing Missions (ages 9-12, experience required)
This week-long exploration of advanced concepts in programming Mindstorm robots will be based on the EV3 programming language. Instructors include the incomparable Mr. Lee (from SCHS) and outstanding FIRST Lego League and FIRST Tech Challenge team members. This session will stress the value of teamwork by grouping campers into teams of three or four members and teaching them to work as an FLL team does. Teams will work to build robots to accomplish multiple missions from past FLL challenges. The last hour of the camp will host a competition for friends and parents to watch. Some knowledge of NXT or EV3 programming language is required, or permission of the instructor.

LEGO WeDo Robot Engineer Session, (ages 7 - 11) Just no 6yr olds. Max 15 campers
Build and Program robotic LEGO models with the WeDo system, featuring working motors and sensors. WeDo Robot Engineering will dive into an exciting hands on experience learning about robotics design, sensing, and programming. Using drag and drop software, you will gain experience with programming logic to make your creations move and react to the environment. You will think like an engineer as you build a crane, car, robot alligator, or sensing conveyor belt. What can’t you do with imagination, hard work, and design.

Girls in Engineering, (ages 7 - 12) Max 24 campers. (girl helpers if possible)
This camp is an introduction to the many areas of engineering and enables girls to learn about engineering and the engineering design process through fun activities, projects, challenges and team building. This camp will also include LEGO Robots and programming, and guest speakers. GIRLS ONLY!! Of course, girls who are not able to make this session are encouraged to enroll in any Lego Fun Camp or Advanced Lego Programming.

Once Maximum amount of participants are registered our wait listed option will start. From there we will take participants if any spots become available.


Freedom Field Hockey Fall 2017

The Freedom Field Hockey program is about providing girls, 5-14 years of age, an environment where they will gain knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to play girls field hockey.
The sport of field hockey promotes teamwork, encouragement, and overall enjoyment; season runs from Aug. to early Nov.

Clinic Play:
Grades K-2: $60.00
Practice one evening each week. Games played either Sat. or Sun.
3rd-4th Grade: $110.00
Practice two evenings each week, games on Sun.*
5th-6th Grade: $130.00

Freedom Coed Slow Pitch Over 16 Softball Spring 2017

Adult Coed Slow Pitch fun league for ages 16 and older.

If you have a team please contact Sue Chaney at fdosoftball@gmail.com and we will set up your team for registration. If you are an individual player looking for a team register as a free agent. You will be wait listed and we will assign you to a team as soon as we find an available spot.

All Team Managers must register as a volunteer.

We will once again use a double header format – 2 -55 minute games – player starts with 1-1 count then 1 foul ball – 7 inning games.

Season runs April 2 through July 9 Sundays at Freedom Park Field 5 & 6 (No Games Easter Sunday, Mother's Day, Memorial Day Weekend and Father's Day and July 3) -10 weeks and one rain date)

JDCRO Orchestra Practice 2016-17

JoeyDCares Rock Orchestra, a non-profit community music group of students and adult volunteers, performs Rock, Pop, Motown, Jazz & Classical to support charitable events throughout the year. Students improve their music skills while earning service hours serving their community through music, building leadership skills, and having fun jamming with other musicians.

Who: Student musicians in grades 6-12. Also, members of the community of any age who want to join by helping or playing an instrument are welcome!

Cost: $99 per 4 month session- See Sessions below - you must register for each session separately.

Freedom Soccer Referees 2017

Welcome to Freedom Rec Soccer Referee Soccer Registration

For Youth Referees you must play soccer for Freedom Optimist Soccer, FSC, or Liberty, Century or South Carroll High School.

Adult Referees must have previously refereed for FO Soccer Program.

When you register click on the player tab.

If you are a first or second year referee you must attend 2 clinics:

Session #1 Sunday August 13th from 2 – 4:00 PM or 4:15 – 6:15 PM at the Optimist Community Center Upstairs.

Session #2 Sunday August 27th from 2 – 4:00 PM or 4:15 – 6:15 PM at the Optimist Community Center Upstairs.
You must attend both sessions.

If you are a third or more year referee then you must attend 1 clinic on Sunday August 20th from 2 – 4:00 PM or 4:15 – 6:15 PM at the Optimist Community Center Upstairs. You must attend a session to referee.

If you are a 3rd year or more and wish to referee at Eldersburg and not Freedom Park then you need to attend the 1st & 2nd year referee clinics.

If for some reason you cannot attend the required sessions you must contact Sue Chaney at fosreferees@gmail.com. If you do not attend required sessions and do not have a waiver from the referee coordinator you will not be allowed to referee.

There is no fee to register. Registration will be open till August 12th for 1st & 2nd year referees and August 19th for 3rd year and beyond referees.

If you are a third year and beyond who would be interested in helping with training or be a lead referee at Eldersburg or Freedom Park.

If you are over 18 and are volunteering to help you will need to complete the Carroll County Background check. Instructions can be obtained at our website www.eteamz.com/fosoccer

FSC Travel Soccer 2017/2018

FSC Travel Soccer Club (U8 - U19) — 2017/2018 Season
• Tryouts are held in May/June. For tryout information and to register for tryouts please visit: www.freedomsoccerclub.org
• You must have tried out for FSC and have been selected to play on a FSC team to register here.
• If selected for a FSC team, Players must register and pay within 3 days from time offer is made to join a team.
• Players must have a participation code to register. To obtain a code please contact your coach.
• Player registration fee is $165 (non-refundable). Credit card or checks accepted. ($25 charge for returned checks).
• Coaches, assistant coaches, team managers, treasurers, and board members MUST also reg-ister here as a volunteer and must have a participation code to register.


Hall Rental - Freedom Optimist Building 2017

In order to rent the the Freedom Hall please email optimisthall@gmail.com and you will receive a participation code so that you can register and pay.

Fees are:
Upstairs (Capacity - 60): $50.00/hour plus $175.00

Downstairs (Capacity - 225):
$500.00 - 4 hours
$550.00 - 5 hours
$600.00 - 6 hours
$650.00 - 7 hours
$700.00 - 8 hours

With this registration I agree that I will abide by all rules, regulations and terms set forth below for the Rental of the Freedom Optimist Hall (upstairs & downstairs) for the date and times listed on my registration.
IMPORTANT: You must email (optimisthall@gmail.com) a copy of a Certificate of Insurance for General Liability in the amount of $500,000 naming the Optimist Club of Freedom District as “additionally insured” which can be secured from either a business or homeowner’s insurance provider once registration is complete. If this form is not received within 20 days of registration – this registration will be cancelled.

CANCELLATION: ½ of rental fee is Non-Refundable

Kids Fishing Rodeo's - 2017
Open to children ages 15 and under
- Free of charge, but children should bring their own fishing pole, bait and tackle
- Dates, locations, and hours as follows:
- Westminster Community Pond, Westminster, Maryland at State rt. 140 at Rt. 97 North (Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 8 AM - 3 PM)
- Krimgold Park, Winfield, Maryland on Woodbine Road, 2 miles south of State Rt. 26 (Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 8 AM - 3 PM)

SCAA Men's Softball Spring 2017 Season

Register here for the SCAA Men's Slowpitch Softball League.


You must have a participation code in order to register.

If you are a team manager you will need to register under the Manager link as a participant and you will need to register under the players link as a volunteer. By doing both you will be able to pay required registration fee and view your players, use email and access team wall features.

All fees will be collected by team manager and submited to the league

All Fees must be paid by May 25th or you will be unregistered.

No refunds after May 25, 2017 unless medically related – there is a $15.00 non-refundable administrative fee– returned checks will be charged a $25.00 fee.
Any Games or Sessions cancelled for reasons beyond our control are non-refundable.

Additional Players added after July 25th - must already have a team to play for - Cost $20.00

HOW TO REGISTER

Step 1) Click LOGIN/REGISTER and create an account - please include cell phone number - if you have                   already created an account for another FARC program using this site use the same account.

Step 2) Add your children (when adding grade use current grade in school) and/or spouse to the account

Step 3) Register your participants - scroll to find the program you want to register for

Step 4) Register yourself or your child to volunteer.
