Develop confidence, self defense, discipline, courtesy and self-control through the Korean martial art of Tae Kwon-Do. Classes are coed, 10 weeks long, and offered year-round. Classes are held at the Linton Springs Elem. Community Room, 375 Ronsdale Road, Eldersburg for the following age groups.

JDCRO Orchestra Practice 2016-17

JoeyDCares Rock Orchestra, a non-profit community music group of students and adult volunteers, performs Rock, Pop, Motown, Jazz & Classical to support charitable events throughout the year. Students improve their music skills while earning service hours serving their community through music, building leadership skills, and having fun jamming with other musicians.

Who: Student musicians in grades 6-12. Also, members of the community of any age who want to join by helping or playing an instrument are welcome!

PIE3 - 2017 August Sessions

Robotics August Session

LEGO WeDo Robot Engineer Session, (ages 7 - 11) Just no 6yr olds. Max 15 campers
Build and Program robotic LEGO models with the WeDo system, featuring working motors and sensors. WeDo Robot Engineering will dive into an exciting hands on experience learning about robotics design, sensing, and programming. Using drag and drop software, you will gain experience with programming logic to make your creations move and react to the environment. You will think like an engineer as you build a crane, car, robot alligator, or sensing conveyor belt. What can’t you do with imagination, hard work, and design.

Girls in Engineering, (ages 7 - 12) Max 24 campers. (girl helpers if possible)
This camp is an introduction to the many areas of engineering and enables girls to learn about engineering and the engineering design process through fun activities, projects, challenges and team building. This camp will also include LEGO Robots and programming, and guest speakers. GIRLS ONLY!! Of course, girls who are not able to make this session are encouraged to enroll in any Lego Fun Camp or Advanced Lego Programming.

Once Maximum amount of participants are registered our wait listed option will start. From there we will take participants if any spots become available.

PIE3 Robotics Teams 2017/18 - FRC

Welcome to the PIE3 Robotics Team Registration Site.

FIRST Robotics Competition is open to students who are 14-18 years old by January, and junior members who are 13 in January. PIE3 currently sponsors the Robo-Lions, FRC Team 2199. The team meets in the Sykesville area at least weekly. The team builds a competitive robot each winter, running summer sessions in robotics and engineering in the summer, training, competing and sharing their STEM experiences throughout the community all year.
Team members learn about and participate in the team in many ways, and may join through the year. Volunteer mentors are also welcome in any of the following areas:
-Electronics and electrical engineering
-Mechanical systems and system integration
-Public relations, including marketing, graphic design and social media
-Business planning and fundraising
-Computer Aided Design (CAD)
-Programming in Java
-Shop safety, quality engineering and product reliability

There is an initiation fee of $50 for students. This includes an invitation to visit with the current team or attend a workshop to learn about the program. Full membership will require additional fundraising and/or contributions to cover team registrations, materials, and travel.

Girls in Engineering (ages 8-12)
This camp will include engineering challenges like egg drop and bridge building, guest speakers, a field trip and, of course, Lego robots and SuGo. There will be many more creative crafts and teambuilding activities as well. GIRLS ONLY!! Girls interested in these activities and not able to make this session are encouraged to enroll in any Lego Fun Camp or the afternoon Advanced Lego Programming.

Lego Fun Camp includes an introduction to Lego EV3 programming for Mindstorms and SuGo games, a friendly and fun competition and all sorts of activities like paper airplanes, making buttons, and engineering challenges. On the final day, teams showcase their robots and skills

Advanced Lego Programming and Accomplishing Missions (ages 9-12, experience required)
This week-long exploration of advanced concepts in programming Mindstorm robots will be based on the EV3 programming language. Instructors include the incomparable Mr. Lee (from SCHS) and outstanding FIRST Lego League and FIRST Tech Challenge team members. This session will stress the value of teamwork by grouping campers into teams of three or four members and teaching them to work as an FLL team does. Teams will work to build robots to accomplish multiple missions from past FLL challenges. The last hour of the camp will host a competition for friends and parents to watch. Some knowledge of NXT or EV3 programming language is required, or permission of the instructor.

Freedom Soccer Referees 2017

Welcome to Freedom Rec Soccer Referee Soccer Registration

For Youth Referees you must play soccer for Freedom Optimist Soccer, FSC, or Liberty, Century or South Carroll High School.

Adult Referees must have previously refereed for FO Soccer Program.

If you are a first or second year referee you must attend 2 clinics:

Session #1 Sunday August 13th from 2 – 4:00 PM or 4:15 – 6:15 PM at the Optimist Community Center Upstairs.

Session #2 Sunday August 27th from 2 – 4:00 PM or 4:15 – 6:15 PM at the Optimist Community Center Upstairs.
You must attend both sessions.

If you are a third or more year referee then you must attend 1 clinic on Sunday August 20th from 2 – 4:00 PM or 4:15 – 6:15 PM at the Optimist Community Center Upstairs. You must attend a session to referee.

If you are a 3rd year or more and wish to referee at Eldersburg and not Freedom Park then you need to attend the 1st & 2nd year referee clinics.

If for some reason you cannot attend the required sessions you must contact Sue Chaney at If you do not attend required sessions and do not have a waiver from the referee coordinator you will not be allowed to referee.

There is no fee to register. Registration will be open till August 12th for 1st & 2nd year referees and August 19th for 3rd year and beyond referees.

If you are a third year and beyond who would be interested in helping with training or be a lead referee at Eldersburg or Freedom Park.

Location of practices: Parking lot behind Linton Springs Elementary School in Eldersburg

Athletes will be separated by age and/or ability at practices. Meets, which are held in Carroll and surrounding counties, will start on Sunday, September 10 and continue on Sundays through the end of October. Meets are not required, but each athlete is encouraged to participate in at least one during the season. The Arrows cross-country program is for beginners and experienced runners. However, it is highly recommended that your young athlete be able to run the following distances without stopping before they join the program (1 lap around a high school track for 6 and under, 2 laps for 7/8, 4 laps for 9 through 12, and 6 laps for 13/14 age group). For more detailed information on what our program has to offer and what you can expect, please see our cross country flyer at .

The cost is $45 per athlete for the 1st family member, $40 for 2nd and additional family members. This registration amount does not include fees for participating in the meets (typically $5 per athlete per meet). The Arrows uniform (the same jersey and shorts used for our Track and Field program) is required to participate in meets and must be purchased separately through the following website: . Adult Coed Slow Pitch fun league for ages 16 and older.

Freedom Area Basketball - 2017/18

The mission of the Freedom Area Basketball League (FABL) is to provide education, instruction, and recreation in the game of basketball for the young people of the Freedom Area community. FABL has both an Intramural program, as well as select Travel Teams that offer a more competitive element to the level of play. We have divisions available for boys and girls in grades K through 12. In addition to skills development, sportsmanship and the enjoyment of participation will be emphasized at all levels.

No cost to register initially. If there are enough players and the league is formed, the cost will be $110.00/player.
Any registration received after September 11, 2017 will be assessed a $10.00 late fee, with the exception of the Boys and Girls Senior leagues.
There is a maximum of $250.00/family through September 10, 2017. On September 11, 2017, the family maximum increases to $280.00.
Refund Policy
There will be a $10.00 fee deducted from any refund that is issued in order to cover non-refundable fees and administrative overhead.

Freedom Field Hockey Fall 2017

Registration closed for players. Volunteers may register.
The Freedom Field Hockey program is about providing girls, 5-14 years of age, an environment where they will gain knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to play girls field hockey.
The sport of field hockey promotes teamwork, encouragement, and overall enjoyment; season runs from Aug. to early Nov.

Clinic Play:
Grades K-2: $60.00
Practice one evening each week. Games played either Sat. or Sun.
3rd-4th Grade: $110.00
Practice two evenings each week, games on Sun.*
5th-6th Grade: $130.00
Practice two evenings each week, games on Sun.*
7th-8th Grade: $145.00
Practice two evenings each week, games on Sun.*
*Tournament opportunities may be available and will be determined by the coach and could be subject to additional fees during the season.

Late registration:
($25 fee), May 21 - June 10. Sibling discounts available.
