Freedom Area Basketball - 2018/19

Registration closes in 9 days

The mission of the Freedom Area Basketball League (FABL) is to provide instruction and recreation in the game of basketball. In addition to skills development, sportsmanship and the enjoyment of participation will be emphasized. We offer an Intramural program, as well as select Travel Teams for more competitive play. We welcome all grades K-12.

Travel Players:
All travel teams are not yet determined, and tryouts will be held in September. All Travel Players must register through the REC program.
Once Travel Teams are selected, those players will be moved to their grade associated travel team.

Online registration will be open from August 1 through September 30, 2018.

Refund Policy: There will be a $10.00 fee deducted from any refund that is issued

FLL Robotics (Grades 4-8, sponsored by PIE3) 2018/19

FIRST LEGO League is open to students who are 8-14 years old by January 1, 2019. Teams are formed in the community as coaches (2 or more per team) volunteer and determine meeting times and location BEFORE signing up members. Teams are limited to ten students, who research a real-world challenge, then innovate and develop their own solution through designing, building, and coding LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robots to perform autonomous “missions” on a playing field.

If you do not yet have a team assignment, email signup.pie3@gmail.com to inquire about possible team openings or about coaching a new team. Coach training is available; no experience is required.

FTC Robotics (Grades 7-12, sponsored by PIE3) 2018/19

You must have a Participation Code to Register

FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is open to students who are 11-18 years old by January 1, 2019. FTC teams of up to 15 students explore the possibilities of STEM through designing, building, programming, and operating robots to play a competition challenge in an alliance format. They practice engineering principles while realizing the value of teamwork, innovation, and sharing ideas, and participants are eligible to apply for $80M+ in college scholarships

Teams are formed in the community as coaches (2 or more per team) volunteer and determine meeting times and location BEFORE signing up members. FTC Team 4991 will compete in 2019, and a new team may form depending on interest.

FRC Robotics (High School, sponsored by PIE3)2018/19

You must have a Participation Code to Register

The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team in Carroll County is FRC Team 2199 the Robo-Lions. Now in their 13th year, the team is open to any high school student with an interest in robotics, programming, marketing, public relations, social media, creative problem-solving, engineering, design and many other areas. This team is active year-round, with the main season January-April. Training and team building begins in the fall. No experience is necessary.

SIGNUP FOR THIS TEAM IS RECOMMENDED AFTER VISITING WITH THE TEAM AT LEAST ONCE. You will then be provided with a code needed to complete signup. Meeting location is 2025 Suffolk Road, Suite 1A, Finksburg, MD. Contact the team at 2199robolions@gmail.com for the date and time of the next meeting.

FLL Junior Robotics (Grades K-3, sponsored by PIE3)2018/19

FIRST LEGO League Junior is open to students who are 6-9 years old by January. Teams of up to six children explore a scientific concept, then build a model and code it to make it move using LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0. They also develop a Show Me Poster to illustrate their journey of discovery.

Hall Rental - Freedom Optimist Building 2018

In order to rent the the Freedom Hall please email optimisthall@gmail.com and you will receive a participation code so that you can register and pay.

Fees are:
Upstairs (Capacity - 60): $50.00/hour plus $175.00

Downstairs (Capacity - 225):
$500.00 - 4 hours
$550.00 - 5 hours
$600.00 - 6 hours
$650.00 - 7 hours
$700.00 - 8 hours

With this registration I agree that I will abide by all rules, regulations and terms set forth below for the Rental of the Freedom Optimist Hall (upstairs & downstairs) for the date and times listed on my registration.
IMPORTANT: You must email (optimisthall@gmail.com) a copy of a Certificate of Insurance for General Liability in the amount of $500,000 naming the Optimist Club of Freedom District as “additionally insured” which can be secured from either a business or homeowner’s insurance provider once registration is complete. If this form is not received within 20 days of registration – this registration will be cancelled.

CANCELLATION: ½ of rental fee is Non-Refundable
BUILDING SECURITY: Upon completion of event and inspection credit card payers will be issued $100.00 refund back to your credit card from your rental fee within 30 days after your event date

Freedom Optimist Spring Rec Soccer 2019

Welcome to Freedom Optimist Spring Rec Soccer
Ages 3 – Grade 8 - All teams are COED
Lots of fun for everyone –Eldersburg Elementary School – Mid March - early May Play with your friends!! (older age groups short sided fields). Team sizes and age grouping will depend on the number of participants. Requests will be honored but will be done on a first come first serve basis.
Season will run on Sunday mornings March 17 – May 12. 8 weeks - 1 week of practices – 7 weeks of games. (any make up games will be on week nights)
Cost: $65.00/player
($5.00 sibling discount)

Registration is not considered complete and your child will not be placed on a team until payment is received.

If you coached in the fall please check your expiration date for you background check before doing new background registration.

Freedom Firebirds Travel Softball 2018-19

Welcome to the Freedom Firebirds registration page.

Congratulations on making a Firebird team this season.

We will be holding free pitching instruction clinics in January & February 2019 for Grades 3-4 and 5-7 Divisions. All pitchers or potential pitchers are encouraged to attend. We will have indoor pitching practice session from January through March. Times and exact dates to be determined. We will also hold an indoor catching clinic, and some outdoor fielding hitting and clinics. Additional information to follow.
If you wish to be a Team Manager, Assistant Coach, Team Parent or Volunteer in any other way you MUST register online. Please note - all Team Managers & Assistant Coaches will also be required to additionally register with Carroll County - instructions can be found on on our website

JDCRO Orchestra Practice 2018-19

JoeyDCares Rock Orchestra, a non-profit community music group of students and adult volunteers, performs Rock, Pop, Motown, Jazz & Classical to support charitable events throughout the year. Students improve their music skills while earning service hours serving their community through music, building leadership skills, and having fun jamming with other musicians.

Who: Student musicians in grades 6-12. Also, members of the community of any age who want to join by helping or playing an instrument are welcome!

Cost: $99 per 4 month session- See Sessions below - you must register for each session separately.

class can Painting Step by Step, for ages 11-adult Fall 2018

For ages 11 – adult. 3 classes. Paint your home and paint your pet on canvas, then paint your favorite quote on a pallet (for you or as a holiday gift). Students will create 2- 12” x 16” paintings with acrylic paint. Pets and houses will be pre-sketched. Quotes will be transferred on to a 10” x 17” pallet during class. Please send photos and quote choices to tutoringart@gmail.com by 11/21. Some blending and painting techniques will be taught. Great fun!
